  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.

Author Guidelines

Graduate students are encouraged to submit original papers and book reviews. Papers should be 15-20 pages of original text not counting end notes. Book reviews should be 750-1,000 words in length and review a monograph published in the last four years.

Submissions may address any relevant topic, with special consideration given to submissions concerning anthropology, archaeology, art, architecture, history, religion, Latin American studies, women's studies, world languages, and world cultures.

 All submissions must utilize notes-bibliography style end note citations and conform to the style standards in the most recent edition of A Manual for Writers of Research Papers, Theses, and Dissertations by Kate L. Turabian.

 Papers must be the original work of the submitter and include appropriate documentation.

 Submissions must include an abstract of 150 words maximum on a separate page.
